[Voyage-linux] Recompile Kernel

I have need of recompiling the kernel (I'm adding a patch for the
natsemi driver so that it will support VLANs - hopefully).  Does
anyone have any good instructions for recompiling the kernel for
Voyage?  I do have the config file for the current kernel, so that
helps and I'm following some instructions from
http://www.falkotimme.com/howtos/debian_kernel2.6_compile/.  I
actually have the kernel compiled, but I'm not able to install it very
well.  Any tips would be appreciated.  Thank you.
