[Voyage-linux] how to compile new modules?

I just installed the latest voyage image.  I need to compile a new 
module for my wireless card.  I installed gcc, kernel-headers-2.6.8-2, 
kernel-source-2.6.8 etc..

I compiled my module but when I modprobe it I get :
FATAL: Error inserting zd1211 
(/lib/modules/2.6.8-486-voyage/net/zd1211.ko): Invalid module format

Any ideas on what I need to change in my environement to correctly 
compile this module?
