Robert,

I don't know which USB host controller (UHCI, OHCI & EHCI) drivers
cause you problem.  You could try to unload all the host controller
drivers (uhci_hcd, ohci_hcd & ehci_hcd) by rmmod, then reload it one
by one using modprobe to see which one cause problem.
