i would like to contribute some time and effort

there are some things i would like to have in voyage linux
1) update the kernel and kernel modules to a new version of 2.6 say 2.6.12
with 2.6 module init tools.
2) update the splash screen to remove knoppix branding
3) add scripts help adding removing software
4) slim down system a much as possible by removing
un-needed time zone and locales ... this could be part
of a build script that configures final image
if you in asia you get an asian locale in us an us locale or time
zone. i want to trime as much as possible.
5) i am interested in 2.6 only and dont care to have
2.4 support this may be an issue
since this project is not my own but i am more than willing
to compromise.
