[Voyage-linux] Same Interface for USB devices

Hi guys,

I know my problem is not voyage specific, but maybe some of you guys
know this anyway.

I´m running several usb device on my WRAP box. It is very important that
those devices always got the same interface assigned when attached to
the USB Port.
The actual situation doesn´t support this. If I detach for e.g. ttyUSB0,
device ttyUSB1 moves to ttyUSB0.
Have you got any ideas how I could fix this assignement?

I would like the 3G wireless card always to get always ttyUSB0 - ttyUSB3
And the gps receiver should always be assigned to ttyUSB4.

Thanks and merry Christmas :-))

Betreff: Re: [Voyage-linux] bridging interfaces

Hi Jeff,

I must say: madwifi-ng bridging has been working since voyage-0.2.

Modified madwifi-ng WDS bridge sample in /etc/network/interfaces like
below:

# madwifi-ng WDS Bridge
#auto br0
iface br0 inet static
       address 192.168.1.2
       netmask 255.255.255.0
       network 192.168.1.0
       broadcast 192.168.1.255
       gateway 192.168.1.1
       bridge_ports eth0 ath0
       #bridge_ports eth0 ath0 ath1
pre-up wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
# pre-up wlanconfig ath1 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode wds
       pre-up iwpriv ath0 mode 3
       pre-up iwconfig ath0 essid "voyage-wds" channel 1
# up iwpriv ath1 wds 1
# up iwpriv ath1 wds_add AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF
       post-down wlanconfig ath0 destroy
# post-down wlanconfig ath1 destroy

Regards,
Punky
