The problem you describe is different from the one that the patch is
fixing. We're also noticing similar problems on one of our RouterBoard
RB230 (with LM87, but also using scx200_acb). Same messages, then the
chip isn't detected anymore until a cold boot.

There have been some patches to the scx200_acb driver in the lm-sensors
mailing list recently, which are said to fix some bugs in the driver.
I'll give them a try (after backporting them to 2.4.x) and let you know
if that helped us.
