Thanks for the info. Modprobe lm77 and scx_acb worked momentarily but
has since stopped, as you mentioned this directory doesnt exist after a
reboot

/sys/bus/i2c/drivers/lm77/0-0048

instead it contains
/sys/bus/i2c/drivers/lm77# ls -al
--w-------  1 root root 4096 Jan  3 01:45 bind
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root    0 Jan  3 01:45 module -> ../../../../module/lm77
--w-------  1 root root 4096 Jan  3 01:45 unbind

Ive noted that on the other board I have it uses a module i2c-sensor
which seems to be absent from this newer kernel
2.6.15-486-voyage

lsmod shows

i2c_core               15888  2 scx200_acb,lm77

any Ideas appreciated

regards

Greg
