[Voyage-linux] monitoring in voyage

Hi list,

as many of you use voyage linux on embeded boards (eg. WRAP), I guess
you need to perform some kind of system/interface/wireless state
monitoring on your boxes in production. The main tool for this I believe
is SNMP. While standard netsnmp (snmpd package from debian packages)
daemon can provide with the information about interface statistics, I
couldn't find any information about board temperature (lm sensors) or
wireless PHY/MAC layer parameters (madwifi-ng). While netsnmp has a
module for lm sensors information (it is shown, that the libsnmp5 was
built with ucd-snmp/lmsensors module), it doesn't seem to provide it
(atleast I don't get anything from the subtree of
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.13.16). As for wireless statistics, I managed to find
Avantcom's MIB for 802.11 (http://www.avantcom.com/snmpAVC80211.aspx)
which should support madwifi driver, but it didn't provide any
information except for MIB version itself either.
What are the techniques that you use for monitoring the voyage box ?
Are you using SNMP information ? Are you writing custom shell/perl/etc.
scripts for SNMP daemon to run when specific oid is requested ? What
about SNMP traps (wireless event traping) ?
  Thanks for your answers.

  Regards,
  Vytautas
