Hi,
I just recently installed Voyage 2.0 (Voyage-current) from
http://www.voyage.hk/download/voyage/voyage-current.tar.gz
I would like to install newest Madwifi drivers:
http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-ng/madwifi-ng-r1611-20060528.tar.gz
These drivers are from the 28th of May and contain the very first
Madwifi release (v0.9.0) and a new hal version (0.9.17.0)
I have seen in
http://alpha.voyage.hk/contrib/punkytse/test-kernel/madwifi-ng-modules-2.6.15-486-voyage_0.svnr1611.20060527-1+3.0-1_i386.deb
that latest madwifi drivers are available in a package. Is it possible
to use this modules with Voyage 2.0 or I need to install the new kernel
image 3.0?
Related to hostap I have seen:
voyage:/etc# dmesg | grep hostap
hostap_pci: 0.4.4-kernel (Jouni Malinen <jkmaline at cc.hut.fi>)
What should I do if I want to upgrade to 0.4.9 hostap version?:
http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases/hostap-driver-0.4.9.tar.gz
I have not seen any package related to hostap. Do I have to do that
manually?
I know how to build the modules with kernel sources and insert them
manually in /lib/modules but would like to learn how to build the
package in order to have recent modules in a Debian way. I could not
find in the Wiki any information related to this.
Sorry if these questions are newbie ones :)
Regards:
Pablo
