[Voyage-linux] setting the wireless channel

I am running voyage with dhcrelay relaying dhcp requests to a server and
hostapd on a soekris.  I notice that I can use hostapd to set the *channel,
but all attempts thus far have failed.  Has anyone else had this problem, or
are you able to provide any insight?
