Hi Chris,

I think you need a Debian system to build your own package. Then
download the .bin file from Sun's site manually and create your own deb
package using fakeroot make-jpkg <.bin file>.
    http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/debianjava.htm

May be your chance is to get the pre-built deb package from ubuntu:
    http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/libs/sun-java5-jre

As you know, Debian community is very restrictive to distribute non-free
software. Hence, they will never provide a installable deb package for
java. I am not sure voyage community can (legally) re-distribute JRE
(not JDK). If so, I can add this to our deb repository.

Regards,
Punky
