One thing that fools many users is that most of the Ubiquity high-power
cards report lower TX power than they actually use. Depending on the model
you have there is a "power offset" - or in other words: you choose, say,
17 dBm as TX power, but the card will use 17+<offset> dBm instead.

Another thing you might want to look are the diversity settings. Many
users connect only one antenna to the card, but don't tell the driver
about that.

My company (a german wireless ISP) uses tons of CM9 cards, and they are
pretty reliable. However, we use an old version of MadWifi (as we're
conservative about upgrades), so your mileage may vary if you use a more
driver version - which is highly possible.

Bye, Mike
