That's expected behaviour.

What you see there is everything to expect from the card its an 802.11bg
chip with 900mhz converter there was a channel sheet shipped with the card
to say what 802.11bg channel to use to receive the 900mhz channel
specified on that sheet.

Atheros doesn't support 900mhz from these chipsets so its only a hack to
make it easy to implement just follow the channel sheet and you will find
it will work.
