Hi Jeffery,
I suppose you realize that the SR9 chipset looks, for all intents and purposes, like a standard 802.11b/g radio to your OS. Atheros packed a small sticker/lable with the SR9 that stated which 802.11b/g channels to use. I just selected channel 5. The SR9 is just a 802.11b/g radio with a frequency down converter built-in. I currently have a 3 mile link established with 2 SR9's with 2-9dbi yagi's and using the old madwifi drivers that were in pebble linux distro. However, to answer your direct question create a file with you text editor /etc/rcS.d/S99network. In that type the following:
#!/bin/bash
ifconfig ath0 up
ifconfig ath0 down
ifconfig ath0 up
then save it! At your prompt then type:
chmod 700 /etc/rcS.d/S99network
reboot and it will execute this shell script.
One other thing ..did you do #athctrl -d <distance>
Assuming of course your using the newer madwifi-ng.
Good Luck

Hello all,
I have made the SR9 cooperate only by doing an ifconfig ath0 up, ifconfig ath0 down, ifconfig ath0 up.
What's going on, and how do I fix this so that there is no intervention after boot-up? For those who have not seen the previous e-mails, my SR9 will not operate on any other channel than channel one without doing the above. No matter what I have in my config file.
Thanks,
