[Voyage-linux] Network Setup Error On Boot

Hello guys,

Thanks to Punky for adding me to the mailing list, I've had problems
subscribing the usual way so it's nice to finally be here :-D

I've got a problem on my 0.4 system here which is running on a WRAP 2e
board, and it only appears to have started after I duplicated the card using
a DD copy. Now both my original card and the new copy are having difficulty
recognising the network adapters, which is most odd.

I can't say for SURE that it was the copy process that started the problem,
but I was working with no problems over SSH on the boxes this morning, and
then after the copy I'm unable to connect. The process I use to copy the
card on my Slackware system is very simple...

'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb'

I've done this countless times before with my 0.3 systems and it has gone
without a hitch. Now when booting the system and watching it over COM I see
the following error messages thrown:

"Setting up networking.../etc/rcS.d/S39ifupdown: line 85:
/etc/network/run/ifstate: Input/output error

* Failure initializing /etc/network/run/ifstate

 failed!

Configuring network interfaces...ifup: failed to open statefile
/etc/network/run/ifstate: Input/output error

failed."

I've tried this on several different hardware's and get the same results on
each. I've not seen this error before and don't really have any idea what is
causing it, does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be or how to
remedy it?

Thanks guys,

Rob
