[Voyage-linux] can not patch for 2.6.23

hello, all of users:
to compile a new program, i must need a build in kernel.  but 
I try to patch it from the follow, but i still got error:

can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

i am not very sure the problem. i tried -p1 or p4 all have errors, please give some suggestion for that. is anything wrong with my config or kernel version?
