I'm not sure, but I guess it's not, and sure isn't in Debian
proper. You can likely find out yourself by just grep'ing through the
init scripts.
If you make entries in /etc/modules and find modules don't get loaded
on boot, it's probably because you boot off an initrd image. If I
recall correctly, you would likely have to issue an
update-initramfs -u
after modifiying that file, to have everything included in that image,
and then reboot again.

admin docs, as available on the net.
