[Voyage-linux] Wrap board, custom stripped down (vanilla) kernel.

Guys

this might come across a bit stupid, but did anybody try yet to trim
down the voyage kernel for wrap boards, maybe even up to the point of
booting voyage with a vanilla kernel?

Afaik, e.g. 2.6.24 vanilla should boot perfectly on wrap's, I'm just
not sure if some other voyage system configuration depends on kernel
patches, and what kernel options might be safely disabled.

Actually, I already tried to boot 2.6.24, but it got stuck halfway
"waiting for the root filesystem". So before I dig deep into this
stuff, I thought I might as well ask here for advice.

The reason I want to upgrade by the way is some ADSL traffic shaping
optimizations which went into mainline with 2.6.24 . I already patched
the voyage 2.6.23 kernel to include these changes, and while they
generally work OK as such, some accounting stuff seems a bit off. So I
just wanted to see whether this has been fixed already in 2.6.24 and
then maybe upgrade without looking too deep into the tc code ;)

Long post, sorry.

Thanks for feedback, R.
