I know the full 0.6 is out a ways -- after all, 0.51 just went stable today!
But any sense of when the first draft of a kernel build for 2.6.25 might be
in the daily build? I do not care right now so much about Lenny as about
the latest kernel.

Next VL 0.6 should have kernel >= 2.6.25. But it all depends on the
progress of migrating etch to lenny.
