[Voyage-linux] Is Eee Box good for Voyage?

Punky,

It is not there now, likely not till Fall, but a Debian-based distro that
would seem to be moving towards really good support for EEPC and similar
systems is the new Ubuntu MID stuff (http://www.ubuntu.com/products/mobile).
They just released alpha code yesterday, limited to just a Samsung unit, but
if you look at the spec, it is near perfect for EE-line units. Ubuntu MID
is not as tight as Voyage any stretch (350MB image) but by focusing on the
Atom and the Intel Moblin code, (http://moblin.org/) I think they are going
to pick most of the drivers of interest to an x86 mobile user, and the
customization tool for this port is very smooth -- see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MobileAndEmbedded/CreatingAnImageForUMEDevice.

Now an Atom board (super cheap, $72 at Newegg!) that I would love to see
voyage work with the Intel D945GCLF
(http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D945GCLF/index.htm). At that
price, this thing is going to take a lot of business from Via.

Cheers,

- Michael

Hi all,

After ALIX, I think Eee Box will be a good candidate for Voyage:
