[Voyage-linux] Duplicating CF

Good morning guys,
Well, as suspected I've tried duplicating the cards using DD and I'm having
the aforementioned issues with the networking :-( I have also tried moving a
hand built card from one board to another and get this exact same issue,
something must be tying the configuration to the hardware?
When I place the duplicated card into the new system and boot with the board
connected to the network then everything is fine, however, if I then boot
the system without a network connection, then I am never again able to get
it to boot _with_ a network connection, the system will boot but will not
lease an IP address or anything like that.
When watching the boot through a serial connection is displays the following
error when attempting to start networking:
Setting up networking.../etc/rcS.d/S39ifupdown: line 85:
/etc/network/run/ifstate: Input/output error
* Failure initializing /etc/network/run/ifstate
failed!
Configuring network interfaces...ifup: failed to open statefile
/etc/network/run/ifstate: Input/output error
failed.
Any ideas what might be causing this? This is the same issue I've had in the
past and I've never been able to solve it.
Thanks,
Robert

I do use dd also but have found that doing the chroot customization of
the source files (the extracted directory from the tar ball) and then
adding/removing packages, changing config files, etc. works well because
the standard voyage.update script then loads all my preferences on each
new CF. If your CF cards are substantially different from each other
system by system, I'd use the dd method.
