We tested with success a video playback of divx 800x600x stereo audio... but videos was really optimized.

Definition of HD is a bit vague but as a comparison Intel N270 (which has more processing power) on B202 is not sufficient for 1080 quality but some reports give it an ok for 720p.

Based on the perceived performance differences I've seen with Atom and Geode boxes next to each other, I'd guess getting HD out of 500Mhz Geode will be a tough task.

Has anybody here used an Alix board to build a digital video recorder? I'm
thinking about using a Silicon Dust HDHomeRun to convert broadcast signal to network
traffic, then hook up an external usb drive to the alix for storage. Then the alix would
serve as a file server to provide the television program to another machine for display
purposes (the alix's vga would not be used). The alix could run mythtv or sagetv.

Is the Geode 500MHz processor up to the task? Could it handle high def tv?

Thanks.
