[Voyage-linux] Voyage 0.6.2: MadWifi: unable to attach hardware: 'EEPROM checksum invalid' (HAL status 7)

Hi,

After an update from Voyage 0.4.1 using "apt-get update/(dist-)upgrade"
until there was nothing to update any more I get the following error and
my wifi does not work:

"MadWifi: unable to attach hardware: 'EEPROM checksum invalid' (HAL
status 7)"

Upgrading to Voyage 0.6.2 did not help either.

Is this a known feature and is there a solution for this problem
somewhere? I have googled but found no real solution, but many others
with the same kind of problem...

I am using an Voyage 0.6.2 on a Wrap 1.c board with a (from lspci)
00:0d.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5212/AR5213
Multiprotocol MAC/baseband processor (rev 01) wifi card.
