[Voyage-linux] help installing mpd from the source (git repository)

I have installed voyage 0.6.2 on my Alix 2D2 board and  I attempted to install mpd 0.15 from the source by following the instructions here: http://www.diyaudio.com/wiki/index.php?page=LINUX+Audio+MusicPlayerDaemon
I first tried "apt-get build-dep mpd" but it didn't work. Then I tried to install development packages and libraries individually as suggested at this link but some of the files could not be found.
 I need to compile it on my Alix PC as I do not have any other Linux machine with Debian Lenny(??).  
Can anyboy help?
