I believe that mpd version 0.15 is only available in Debian's unstable
(Sid) repository. If he tries apt-get install mpd in Voyage 0.6.2
(based on Lenny, right?) he might only be able to install mpd 0.13.

He might want to try and download the mpd debs (and any requisite
dependencies) from the Debian's experimental repo into his Alix, and
then use the dpkg -i command to manually install the debs.

He can get the needed debs here: http://packages.debian.org/sid/mpd
