I've been using VirtualBox since version 1.5 (currently using 3.0.2)
and never had problems installing voyage. But I have to admit two
things: I used to install voyage "manually" (by using tar) before
voyage-0.6.1 and using a small HDD (<2GB) may be too small when
compiling a kernel..
Maybe you should paste the output of your error in step 6 so we have
a better insight to help you.

Hmm. There is something wrong: "2.6.26-486-voyage-486-voyage" should
read "2.6.26-486-voyage". You should really tell us what you did
before getting these error. It makes life much easier to debug
problems.
