[Voyage-linux] Atheros driver fails after recompiling kernel

I recompiled the latest voyage kernel 2.6.26 for voyage 6.0-3 today and for  
some reason it boots just fine but my atheros card doesn't get recognized.  
If I use the standard voyage kernel from the live install my card works  
fine. It only has problems when I'm using a kernel that I've installed.  
I've made sure that the atheros driver in the wireless device driver  
section was checked. I've tried compiling it as a module and as a built in  
kernel component. Anybody know what I'm missing?
