[Voyage-linux] MySQL

Hey Chris,

Did you make any progress with this? I myself run MySQL on Voyage, at the
moment we remove the RO/RW stuff so the disk is always writable, this works
o.k but does introduce problems and I'd be much happier if we could keep it
all in the standard config of being ro with only certain writable elements.

I have one application which needs to write files (.xml) and db stuff to the
disk however everything else can afford to be lost after a reboot/power
failure, it's just this db/file data which needs to be retained.

It'd be nice if we could get something working.

Rob

Subject: [Voyage-linux] MySQL

Hi,

I want to get MySQL working on Voyage and maintaining it as readonly to
guard against any damage to the data due to power outages.
When I try to install and run MySQL I am no longer able to mount read
only, so I guess it is writing temp files or something which will need
to be moved to tmpfs.

Any idea on how to do this?

Thanks,
Chris
