[Voyage-linux] MySQL

Hi Rainer,
Thanks for the reply!
In my application we want to have the second partition read/write. We have a
database and also a small number of XML and image files which we need to
exist even after a reboot or power failure, the plan is to put these onto
the second partition.
When I make the entry in fstab does the partition get mounted on boot? If
so, how do I access the disk to save to it? What is the path to that
partition?
DD is an application we use to replicate the CF cards, so we only need to
build one and then use DD to make replicas, it's much quicker than building
from scratch each time :-D
Thanks,
Robert

Hello Robert,
if you never did it before you have to know how it works.
You have to modify the /etc/fstab and insert a rule for a second (or more)
partition.
So that Linux knows you can mount from it.
Before that you have to create 2 (or more) partition(s) with cfdisk for
example.
And then to format the partitions.
In my application the second partition can be mount also readolny.
Do you want also that your second partition can be read only?
Or do you want only read/write?
The best is learning by doing.
If you have questions you can post...
I also use the Live CD.
What do you mean with DD exactly?
