FYI: there's a great program called qemubuilder (based on pbuilder)
which works like apt-get build-dep but creates a qemu vm and downloads
and installs all dependencies then runs the build within it. When
you're done, no dependencies are left to uninstall.
This won't help the OP since qemubulder/pbuilder requires a Debian
source package and the version in Sid is .14 (git is .15).
