I don't think so:

: dd2:~ ; ls -l /dev/input
total 0
crw-rw---- 1 root root 13, 63 Oct  3 18:22 mice

I can't find any filename containing  'key' (any case) in /dev.

On my Ubuntu desktop, I find:

/dev/input/by-id/usb-Chicony_PFU-65_USB_Keyboard-event-kbd

Trying another USB keyboard would be useful, just in case there
is something about your current keyboard that prevents it from
being recognized.
