Just a note that recovery on power failures is not enabled by default, so don't forget to set VOYAGE_SYNC_RECOVER="YES" in /etc/default/voyage-util

The issue with data loss from /.sync/xxx when a power-loss occures is 'fixed'. You can sync with 'voyage-sync sync' as often as you wish and data from last sync is recovered at reboot. Please take a look into '/etc/default/voyage-util'.

But it is too bad the /.sync/xxx folders are not synced on reboot instead(or in addition) of shutdown. This would fix data losses due to power losses. Any ideas when/how to minimize data losses other then backuping periodically data to a remote site?

These days I discovered flashybrid package that does very similar to
what voyage 0.6 does for rw/ro.  Except that it only uses tmpfs.

In Voyage>=0.6.2, you can always use tmpfs instead of aufs for ext3/4.
