[Voyage-linux] Voyage + LIRC + FTDI

Hi.

I am trying to convert my windows setup with a serial IR transmitter that controls my TV setup using a homebrew IR transmitter and the WinLirc program - this setup works fine.
Now I like to get rid of the laptop and use an Alix 3d3 board with Voyage linux installed. The issue is that the Alix board does not have the necessary signals in the RS232 port (i.e. CTR, DTR etc) that is used to controll the IR transmitter and reciever.
Therefore I have found some components that uses an MM232R with an FTDI chip, driving an IR transmitter and reciever from USB, and should be supported by LIRC.
After installing Voyage, LIRC and drivers for the FTDI, I notice that the timing is slightly of compared to other setups of LIRC, i.e. about 12% off.
I am not sure whether this is due to the driver, the Alix board or anything else in my setup, but it does cause my TV to ignore the transmitting of signlas from the Alix board with the same remote settings as the Winlirc setup.

Anyone made any similar setup, i.e. Voyage + LIRC + FTDI/MM232R setup to transmitt IR signals?

best regards
Patrik
