[Voyage-linux] Password change without remountrw

Hi everybody!
I am running a small voyage based fileserver. I successfully managed to get samba running and it is possible to change samba passwords using smbpasswd without doing a remountrw.
Well, I now would like the password sync feature from samba to sync the smb password and the linux password of a user, so that users are able to change their password using smbpasswd on their own.
Unfortunately I did not yet managed to change a linux password without doing remountrw. I tried replacing /etc/shadow by a symlink to /lib/init/rw but unfortunately /etc/shadow gets deleted and then rewritten if a user changes his password. So the symbolic link is deleted and replaced with the real/etc/shadow everytime a user changes his passwort.
Does anyone know a solution for this?

Best regards,
Matthias
