Hi Maarten, dear all,
The problem is not solved for me. The status is that I got via the German
distributor into contact with Ayre. After I had sent them a lot of debugging
output from various Linux computers they tried themselves to connect a
current QB-9 to an Ubuntu machine - and they confirmed to get the same
result as me. They told me that they want to look into this, but since one
week I didn't get any further response.
Please, also contact your dealer and distributor and maybe also the Ayre
support directly - in the hope that this increases their priority level for
this problem!
I think this is not a voyage specific problem, I tried various older and
newer Linux versions on various machines, but always the same problem
(the mode switch of the QB-9 in A position, i.e. class 1 up to 96/24,
this I think is expected to work with any of the Linux versions I tried;
the newest kernel/ALSA would only be needed for the class 2 support
up to 192/24).
The sound of the QB-9 is really great, I really want to get it working
with my Alix/Voyage system!
Best regards,
Frank
PS: As a temporary workaround I managed to put a Win XP Prof SP2 on my
Alix, headless with tightvncserver. But this is very unstable and
just reboots itself every few hours for no reasons I can see. Anyone
with experience on this?
