Hello Punky
I think it's a bit to early to discard madwifi driver from voyage.
I have tested voyage 0.7.5 with ath5k driver and it's not possible to
have long distance links!
iw package is very old this should be updated to newest one.
The current version 0.9.19 from debian 6 is from Jan 2010.
With this version you cannot set the distance. Have compiled new version
(0.9.22) but this seems
to fail maybe because old version of libiw or ath5k.
Now I try to compile lastest compat-wireless but have to use kernel-2.6.38
Question:
Kernel config file for voyage-0.7.5 built kernel is
http://mirror.voyage.hk/download/kernel_config/config-2.6.38-voyage_9.0-1
Do I have to download stock kernel 2.6.38 and compile it with this
config file to have
same kernel as voyage-0.7.5? I have not seen any patches applied or did
I miss something?
Which version of ath5k etc. have you built on voyage-0.7.5? Where can I
see that?
The modules seems to be in linux-image-2.6.38-voyage...
Or have you already updated iw and ath5k drivers in an repos?
The version http://mirror.voyage.hk/download/voyage/voyage-current.tar.bz2
is a snapshot version or the same as 0.7.5?
BTW: For what is libiw and where can I get sources of it?
Greetings an thanks
Beat
