Is anyone out there installing directly to a dd'able, loopback-mounted regular file for production? I tried whacking a couple of the scripts to make this happen but still haven't gotten a good burn from the file produced. I can burn to CF first and then dd off the result to a regular file (works), but would like to eliminate the burn step for production purposes. Any shared experience will be appreciated.
can you post some instructions? I have not used linux loopback fs
before except to mount read-only iso's.
I would suspect "bugs" in the install script, such as when it
partitions the device. Last time I tried to run the voyage installer
on a too-old desktop, it quietly failed because the output was just
thrown away. I had to step through the shell script one line at a
time to find the problem.
