[Voyage-linux] Problems getting MPD to work on Alix Board

Hi
I can't get MPD to create a database file and so GMPC does not see any of my
FLAC files. I have been trying to get this to work for the last 5 days and have
done a lot of Googling to find an answer. However all the solutions appear to
involve setting permissions correctly and I have followed all the advice found,
but I still can get MPD to create a database.
My setup is as follows:
File server running Debian Lenny (latest stable release)
Alix board running Voyage-MPD with latest release of operating system
GMPC media player.
I have the Alix board directly wired to the file server with a crossover cable
and I have set the network up so that the Alix and the File server can see each
other. I am able to SSH into the Alix board from the file server and edit the
Voyage files.
NFS is setup on both the Alix board and the Fileserver; The Alix board has my
Music folder on the file server mounted at /mnt/nfs. If I do ls -l in the
/mnt/nfs directory I can see all the directorys I've created on the file server,
and I can create and delete files on this mounted file system.
On my file server I have created the following directorys: mpd_music (where I
store my FLAC files) and MPD.
I have configured MPD.Conf as follows:
music_directory "/mnt/nfs/mpd_music"
playlist_directory "/mnt/nfs/mpd/playlists"
db_file "/mnt/nfs/mpd/tag_cache"
log_file "/mnt/nfs/mpd/mpd.log"
pid_file "/mnt/nfs/mpd/pid"
/home directory on the file server has permissions set at 777.
My user directory (/home/westers) has permissions set at 777.
/home/westers/music has permissions set at 777.
/home/westers/music/mpd_music and /home/westers/music/mpd have permissions set
at 777.
I added a FLAC file to my /home/westers/music/mpd_music directory and restarted
MPD on the Alix system, but the database did not add my FLAC files to it.
I do not know what to do next and would like help to fix this.
Thanks
