Hi,

Voyage 07 + mpd running on lx800 based thin client.

Reading through all the console output produced during boot, (using ctl
+page up) after boot had finished, I noted several errors reported. These
errors do NOT appear in any of the /var/log error logs, even after enabling
bootlog!

Error one :- svc: failed to register lockdv1 RPC service

Fix:- Inhibit IPv6 usuage by adding "ipv6.disable=1" to
/boot/grub/menu.lst

Error two:- "Waiting for ath0" This was peculiar since I only use eth0
and wanlan0. However looking through the /etc/fstab. I found one of the ath0
auto entries was not commented out, correcting this fixed this error and
fixed the problem with mounting nfs at boot.

I found that the nfs mount is accomplished by a script S18mountnfs.sh. This
is ONLY called during initial startup (rcS.d). Since the waiting for ath0
timeout was long, the boot process had proceeded from the start level, and
the mountnfs script was never called!

Error three:- "Voyage-utils failed"

I am a bit unsure of the relevance of this one, Voyage utils controls the
Alex leds, does house keeping on first install (generates rsa keys) and
controls the remount rw functionality. Since I do not have an Alix
motherboard, I have no leds. I am unsure if the error is important, as the
important bit, the remountrw seems to work, although the error logging does
get truncated sooner than I would like!

regards

Patrick
