I do not have the same complaint about FreeNASs, though it is based on
a BSD kernel and I have a personal preference for something Linux
based.

I don't actually have a problem with this.  As long as the easy stuff
is easy, I like when an interface does not assume that I am an idiot.
There are a few non-technical people using Openfiler so I can't say
that it is terrible.  There is almost always room for improvement but
I don't want something as dumbed down and limiting as a Drobo.
