[Voyage-linux] Slow wifi scanning

Over the weekend I did a fresh install of Voyage Linux daily,
06/05/2011 snapshot.  It appears wifi scanning is taking substantially
longer with the ath5k drivers than it did with the madwifi-ng drivers.

root at voyage:~# time iwlist wlan0 scan
[...] snip

real	0m3.129s
user	0m0.104s
sys	0m0.061s

Has anyone else noticed the delay with scanning?  Any pointers would
be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.
