With orig version of suqeeze madwifi driver support works fine.
Did you compile without madwifi driver support (1:0.7.3-1)?

BTW: You know the "new" release schemata of voyage versions of packages?
What does mean 1:0.7.3-1 (1. version of 0.7.3-1) ?
