When I boot from CF the USB HDD is not ready when the system tries to mount
it, giving errors in the boot sequence. It can be mounted post boot, but
this requires manual intervention.

I am not familiar enough with the Debian Squeeze boot system to know where
to fix this, but since Debian is now using a dependency based boot system
I figure that there should be a way to tell the script that executes
'mount -a' that it has to wait for external USB devices to be sensed and
available.

An ugly fix might be to just enter a delay in one of the boot system
scripts, but I would prefer a cleaner solution.

/etc/rcS.d/S02udev runs 'udevadm settle' and waits for it
(default timeout is 180 seconds). Shouldn't this be enough?
