[Voyage-linux] Connectivity through a 3G USB modem

I am trying to get a 3G USB modem working in an ALIX.3d3 board with 
Voyage Linux MPD 0.7. The modem is a ZTE MF110 and works perfectly in 
common Linux distributions.
What steps should I follow? Until now I have found partial instructions, 
instructions that involve a GUI or solutions to specific problems but 
not a concrete set of instructions.  Just to mention that when I plug 
the modem it is recognized as a scsi usb storage device and a scsi 
CD-ROM drive but no ttyUSB0 or ttyUSB1 appears as a device. Any point to 
start with?
