Maybe this is one of these sticks that pretends to be a CDROM to enable
windows users to install the drivers first. The drivers then tell the
stick to change it's configuration. Afterwards you see the ttyUSB* and
usually it is a different USB ID. With linux the package
'usb-modeswitch' does the trick.
