I have successfully done this with 'ddrescue', from a "master" CF to a file on harddisk and then from that file to a bunch of "clone" CFs, but ... YMMV. As far as I understand, it only works if the CFs are of the exact same type (i.e., have the same "geometry"). BTW, this trick I gleaned from a message from Gustin Johnson to this list :-)
