Hello Michael,
I followed the instructions in your wiki (BTW, I'm fan of dokuwiki).
After modprobing cryptodev, cryptosoft and ocf I issued an
# openssl engine
(cryptodev) BSD cryptodev engine
(padlock) VIA PadLock (no-RNG, no-ACE)
(dynamic) Dynamic engine loading support
and aaahh, there is the BSD cryptodev engine.
Then I issued a
# openssl speed -evp aes-128-cbc
...
The 'numbers' are in 1000s of bytes per second processed.
type 16 bytes 64 bytes 256 bytes 1024 bytes 2048
bytes
aes-128-cbc 16857.02k 51028.11k 208490.67k 829721.60k
1306828.80k
Compare these results against the performance without using the
geode-aes hardware encryption unit:
The 'numbers' are in 1000s of bytes per second processed.
type 16 bytes 64 bytes 256 bytes 1024 bytes 8192 bytes
aes-128-cbc 4676.31k 6764.39k 7646.98k 7919.27k 8019.39k
Very impressive :-)
Thanks a lot, and also thanks a lot to all who rendered this amazing
project possible.
Best regards
