[Voyage-linux] Re: 0.8.0: netboot tools in initrd.img

Hi Punky,

PXE boot has no problem, if TFTP server provides kernel from
tarball or live-cd and initrd.img from live-cd. If PXE server is
a booted live-cd, it's fine.

GRUB with netboot, with tarball installed kernel & initrd.img
doesn't work. I could use the initrd.img from live-cd, but that
brings other problems. So I keep two initrd.img files. Or install
live-initramfs and live-boot-initramfs-tools and update initrd.img.
This last option would resolve the problem, so why not supply
these in the tarball image?

Here my (0.7.5) grub menu.lst lines. I can perform netboot without
console access, when I make this entry default. Then, I can refresh
CF image, resize partitions, etc.

title Voyage-linux NFS netboot with kernel and initrd.img from cf1
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-voyage boot=live netboot=nfs nfsroot=10.1.1.1:/home/voyage-0.7.5 live-getty noautologin console=ttyS0,9600n8
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.38-voyage-live

Thanks, Teco
