[Voyage-linux] ordinary phone (rj11) and PC with voyage ONE

If your wanting to ring a number from the asterisk box to POTS you will need
a hardware modem. There are two different modems out there Hardware and
software. The difference is that hardware modems have all the equipment on
the card itself, the software (AKA winmodems) emulate the hardware using
drivers and are typically ALLOT cheaper then hardware modems. In this case,
you definately want a HARDWARE modem like the 5610b or something similar.
USr is prob with out a doubt, the best manuf for low cost hardware modems
out there.

In this case refer to http://www.patton.com/technotes/fxs_fxo.pdf for the
correct definition of FXS/FXO ports.

However in your case, you'll want a modem to connect to the POTS line unless
you have a BRI/PRI and in that case you will need a completely different set
of hardware all together. (PRI/BRI lines are the equivenalt to a T1 in the
US or E1 in europe and contain 23 voice/data channels and 1 timeing
channel).
