Hi Derek,
For NTFS you can't mount rw or it is unsupported. Linux guy just don't have the spec. on NTFS so write is dangerous.
Probably it is permission problem of your files on the disk, not MPD. So better change the file permission on windows
machines and plug back again, or re-format your disk to FAT32.
